The Crisis Center could not operate without its 80-100 volunteers. Volunteers come from all walks of life. Four times a year, the Crisis Center provides over 45 hours of intensive training to enable our volunteers to provide confidential, individualized service.

Training is a great opportunity to help others in need, meet wonderful caring people, and develop incredibly useful skills.  Crisis Center volunteers make an impact in our community.  Consider joining our dedicated team!

Each volunteer must:

bulletbe at least 18 years of age
bulletbe a good listener
bulletbe able to attend every training session
bulletbe able to successfully complete the volunteer training
bulletbe able to work 39 four-hour shifts over a one-year period of time (less than one shift a week).

We especially need volunteers who can work shifts during daytime business hours and overnight.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you can choose from the options below to begin:

Once you submit your application, we'll contact you about a screening interview.

You can apply at any time.  Training dates for 2010 are underway; see below. 

There is a $25.00 training fee (scholarships available).

Training Dates, 2010

 

Summer Training

 

Evening Training:  Starts Wednesday, June 9, 2010.  Training goes from 6:00p.m. – 10:00 p.m. every Wednesday for 8 weeks.

 

Day Training: Starts Thursday, June 10, 2010.  Training goes from 9:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m. every Thursday for 8 weeks.

 

 

Fall Training

 

Evening Training:  Starts Thursday, September 7, 2010.  Training goes from 6:00p.m. – 10:00 p.m. every Thursday for 8 weeks.

 

Day Training: Starts Wednesday, September 6, 2010.  Training goes from 9:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m. every Wednesday for 8 weeks.
