Executive Director, Jane McCann, MS, CIRS, CRS

Jane became a member of the Crisis Center staff in October 1996 when we started the First Call Information and Referral program now known as First Call/211. She assumed the position of Executive Director in May 2006.

Jane received her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Sociology and a minor in Psychology from Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. In 1999, she earned her Master's degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is a Certified Information & Referral Specialist (CIRS) and a Certified Resource Specialist (CRS) through the Alliance of Information and Resource Systems (AIRS).  In May 2001, Jane was a Presenter at the national AIRS conference in Orlando, Florida.

Among Jane's responsibilities at the Crisis Center are maintaining 24 hours services, fundraising and public relations. In the past, she has worked to keep our referral database, IRis, up to date and to spread the word about our First Call/211 program as well as master-minding our famous Community Services Directory. She is a Crisis Center Volunteer, Trainer, and Rape Survivor Advocate. Jane represents the Crisis Center as a Board member for the Indiana 211 Partnership as well as Tippecanoe Co. Step Ahead/First Step Council.  She attends the Homelessness Prevention Network and the Coalition for a Drug Free Tippecanoe County as well as the Latino Services Providers Network.  In White County, she attends Step Ahead board meetings, Domestic Violence Council and Homeless Assistance Task Force (HAT). 

Jane is from the Lafayette area and has step-kids and grandkids. She loves to read anything, do crossword puzzles and likes movies. She rescues stray cats and loves to eat out.  Jane is also a Indiana Master Gardener Intern.
